Pottsboro Library

The Pottsboro Area Public Library is a 501 (C) (3) organization chartered by the Office of the Secretary of State for the purpose of providing free public services. SaferCare Texas partnered with the Pottsboro library to launch a pilot telehealth program in an effort to improve health care access in the community.

IHI OPEN SCHOOL- Fort Worth CHAPTER

IHI Open School provides opportunities for students to learn about patient safety and health care quality improvement through networking, working on quality improvement projects, and attending and presenting at national conferences.

Food and good health

SaferCare Texas partnered with Cuisine for Healing to assist those combating life-threatening diseases to understand how healthy food can help the body in the healing process. Over 70,000 meals have been provided over the last eight years for low income, homebound clients in need.

Interprofessional education & Practice (IPE)

SaferCare Texas and IPE work together to prepare students for Interprofessional Practice by teaching collaborative and patient safety practice competencies within the context of Interprofessional.

FITWORTH

FitWorth is a family-focused initiative of Mayor Betsy Price and the Fort Worth City Council launched in September 2012 to address the growing trend of childhood obesity in the city.  In 2019, FitWorth became a program of the UNT Health Science Center, tasked with promoting health and active lifestyles through an individualized and sustainable approach to community wellness. Each year, FitWorth reaches more than 40,000 children and families in Fort Worth through nutrition education, challenges that promote healthy behavior acquisition, and activity grants.
