Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are developed in partnership with UNT Health Science Center to provide essential training in an effort to eliminate preventable harm.

SaferCare Texas

This module presents the Asthma 411 model, a comprehensive, evidence-based school asthma program. The module also addresses the implementation of the Asthma 411 model during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Participants will increase knowledge and skills in providing culturally competent care for patients and clients.

Participants will improve health outcomes by creating a practice of cultural health literacy and improved relationships between the health care system and the community

 Participants will gain knowledge and skills to facilitate patient safety embedded leadership skills and mindsets that address patient safety issues that eliminate preventable harm.

Community Health Worker (CHW)

This training includes an intro to research-based adult ed. strategies to improve communication skills and health literacy.

Develop the knowledge base of the asthma disease process, common causes of flare-ups, and effective asthma prevention and management strategies.

This course prepares you to connect people in your community with easy-to-understand health information.

This live training teaches CHWs how to handle difficult questions in the wake of a pandemic or other public health emergency. 

This course prepares Community Health Workers (CHWs) to empower moms to protect their health before, during, and after having a baby

This course addresses the health inequities that exist among different racial groups in the United States and their effect on the people they impact. 

This course examines a variety of issues impacting older adult care and provides a bridge to health care that
emphasizes respect and dignity.
