Day 1 Keynote Speaker

Robert Agostino has had a distinguished 54-year aviation career, including 51 consecutive years in jet aircraft, accumulating over 23,000 flight hours across 25 different aircraft. A holder of 13 type ratings, he has set nine world speed records and received numerous accolades, including the Aviation Week Laureate Award and the Flight Safety Foundation’s Meritorious Service Award. With over 40 years in corporate flight operations, he has led safety initiatives, served on industry boards, and currently oversees Gulfstream G650 operations as President and Aviation Director for Group Holdings Aviation.

Day 2 Keynote Speaker

Albert H. O-Yurvati is a board-certified cardiothoracic and general surgeon with a PhD in Education from UNT Health Science Center, graduating in 1986. He is a tenured Professor of Surgery and Chair of the Department of Medical Education at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, actively participating in several medical organizations.

Speakers

Dr. Licciardone is a Regents Professor and Richards-Cohen Distinguished Chair in Clinical Research at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. His research focuses on the delivery and outcomes of medical care for chronic pain.

Emily Stuart is the Assistant Director of the Department of Interprofessional Education and Practice at UNTHSC and is a nationally certified, Texas state-licensed athletic trainer. Emily is a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, a professional member of the Athletic Training Academy in the National Academies of Practice, and a Distinguished Fellow of the Texas Interprofessional Education Consortium, specializing in assessing and evaluating interprofessional teams.

Dr. Spence is the Associate Dean for Community Partnerships and Practice. She brings expertise in community-based participatory research methods, health disparities, program evaluation and community assessment.

Cynthia is the Director for Interprofessional Education and Practice at UNTHSC.

As VP of Clinical Operations at BettrAi, Pam focuses on leveraging AI-driven insights and innovative care models to improve patient engagement, streamline provider workflows, and enhance healthcare outcomes. As a Registered Nurse (RN) and Certified Case Manager (CCM), Pam is passionate about advancing technology-driven solutions that support providers and improve patient care.

Nina obtained both her BSN and MSN from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She currently serves as the RN Project Manager for the Texas Hospital Association PSO Program and acitvitly contributes to the CAHQI and ASPR programs.

Shopha Tserotas is a new faculty member in the College of Nursing at UNTHSC. She has been a nurse for over 20 years and has over a decade of teaching and simulation experience.

Haley Trainer, MSN, RN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, serves as a founding associate professor contributing to curriculum development and mentoring nursing students. With extensive experience in labor and delivery, Haley has also served as adjunct clinical faculty member at several institutions. She plays an active role in maternal healthcare improvements through her work with the Texas Maternal Mortality Review Committee.

Sandy Manoushagian is a registered nurse and certified family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of diverse healthcare experience including service in the US Air Force as a medic and more than a decade working in pediatrics as a nurse and clinical educator. She lives in Fort Worth with her husband of 18 years and their five children.

Brenda Barajas-Koch has been a Prevention Education Specialist for The Women’s Center of Tarrant County since 2020. As a champion of feminist causes, her work promotes gender equity initiatives through community education. More broadly, she seeks to close the health, safety, and wellness gaps that plague many of the neighborhoods and towns in the DFW area. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a Master of Arts in Women’s & Gender Studies, both from the University of North Texas.

Ivonne Uquillas, MS. Ed, brings 10 years of community engagement experience. Her current role is Bilingual Program Manager for The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation.

Ms. Hampton, is a Coordinator, Spanish-Speaking Health Network, and has worked as a Volunteer CHW for Cornerstone Assistance Network Medical clinic.

Nakia is a Manager of Cultural Competency and Language Access in the health equity, diversity & inclusion team at CHRISTUS Health. Nakia Wilson drives the planning, developing, and coordinating language access services and cultural competency programs throughout the CHRISTUS Health System, with the goal of demonstrating an improvement in the quality of care for Limited English, deaf or hard of hearing, and culturally diverse patients, families and communities. Nakia promotes system-wide cultural competency through focused clinical training to shape interpersonal interactions, executing culturally inclusive celebration programs to enhance belonging, and engages relevant communities to promote linguistic and culturally equitable care.

Dr. Warren Leichtle-Chalklen strategically implements CHRISTUS Health's Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, building ministry capacity to incorporate racial justice across their operations. As Director of Diversity and Inclusion, he leads the design of educational materials, oversees Language Access Services, and provides culturally responsive coaching to executive leaders across CHRISTUS Health's network.

Ashley Dominic is the Program Director of Health Equity at CHRISTUS Health, overseeing health equity and SDOH initiatives across four states. She is dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes by addressing the intersections of health equity, quality, safety, and patient experience for the communities she serves.

Katie McKinley, MHA, is a Patient Safety and Risk Management professional with eight years of experience, currently serving as the Senior Clinical Risk Services Manager at HSC Health. She spearheaded the implementation of Riskonnect's ambulatory adverse event reporting system, enhancing patient and employee safety, and driving patient safety initiatives and process improvement projects at HSC Health that positively impact patient care and workplace culture.

Keneisha is an Associate Director of Nursing, who oversees the day-to-day nursing and clinical operations at HSC Health. With over 16 years of nursing experience, she holds both a Bachelor of Nursing and a Master of Nursing degree from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Dr. Knebl is the DSWOP Endowed Chair in Clinical Geriatrics, a UNT Regents Professor, and Chief Medical Officer for HSC Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. With over 35 years of experience in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, she leads clinical education, chairs the HSC Health Patient Safety Committee, and provides care across various older adult settings. She also contributes to the HRSA-funded Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program and has secured over $20 million in research and education funding.

Kimberly Rossiter is the Communications Manager for HSC Health, with a BA in Mass Communication and a diverse background spanning copywriting, photography, PR, advertising, and brand storytelling.

The 2025 Patient Safety Conference takes place on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 from 9:00am to 5:00p.m. The second day will begin on Wednesday, May 7th from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Located at the University of North Texas Health Science Center 3500 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, TX, 76107 inside the Cart E Everett. Education &. Administration building. 

Everyone’s welcome. (Only 21+ years of age are allowed to attend cocktail hour).  We hope to have attendees that are passionate or even interested in patient safety!
